Some quick facts about moi: I have always lived by the sea (except for college years, which I did not really fancy all that much) and I am settling for now by the Atlantic Ocean. I adore bridges and late night walks tuning in to the subtle chaos of the city. I am the star of my own kitchen and I love to entertain. I love my family, I love my friends and I miss them a lot. I love traveling and my best memories took place in cities all around the world from La Habana to Amsterdam, Paris to New York. I am up for the unexpected fun and I don't like to overplan my trips. About my blog: My blog has no central theme whatsoever. I just post whatever I feel like that day. I am maintaining it for myself more than anything as I have a memory weaker than the average fish. Though, if you, the random person, stumbled upon my blog and are enjoying it, I am glad you are here. Browse away!

Lessons from this week

  • I am capable of enduring tons and tons of pain.
  • I absolutely love living in New York and love it significantly more when I don’t spend my entire day at work.
  • I love my apartment. It turned out to be a simple but cozy living space and that’s exactly what I needed.
  • Heightened senses can lead to remarkable(ly subdued but still significant) realizations like how much you use your sphincter muscles to perform simple tasks like sitting… even sneezing and like what a chaotic cacophony it is in the mornings in New York in pre-war apartments with neighbors clinging plates, next door high school’s annoying gangster wanna-be pupils’ music from their smart phones, cars and garbage trucks passing by and the neighbor lady singing in the shower. Things I normally never realize with my strategically weakened senses - almost in a Darwinian way.
  • Real friendship is in the hummus, the flower arrangements and the concerned text messages when you are sick rather than in shallow words when you are well.
  • Lying (or concealing the truth) is not only perfectly acceptable but sort of rewarding when done for the sake of protecting your family and friends.
  • Prune juice is one hell of a drink and brownies can save lives when prepared with love.
  • How I Met Your Mother and the Big Bang Theory are great TV series.
  • I really like living alone and as financially draining as it is, I don’t think I will be ready to give that luxury up any time soon.
  • I am not ready to go back to work. Not at all, which brings me to my one-note conquest. I think I can totally do it and I shall.
