Sometimes strange things give me unusual quantities of joy. I just ate an orange and that was the best piece of fruit I had in a while… it was so juicy and flavorful. I wish I had more of it…

I was really tired from all the classes, workout and the state of the union stuff… and believe it or not designing stuff helps me relax. So I redesigned my entire background. If you are wondering what that squiggly thing is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tugra That’s a tugra. You can see those all over the city if you visit Istanbul. As an Istanbulite, I have always connected with the...

State of the Union - January 2010
I don’t know why this country (the U.S.) is so afraid of paying taxes. Greed? I recently listened to this story on NPR. Americans should learn a lesson from that but I doubt it. http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2010/01/podcast_tax_me_please.html Politicians love applause, don’t they! - Small business tax credit - Fee for banks who have been bailed out - Capital Gain Taxes eliminated...

I am used to fake “how are you”s by now but come on people you can’t do the same thing with how was your break… if you don’t have time to wait for the answer, don’t bother. Ask it when you do have the time. Strange stuff. Also I have to get this out of my system, since when is it cool to be dressed alike. Last time I checked people freaked out for having the...

Textbooks!
I finally ordered my books. Damage done this semester = $400 and that’s after saving 700 bucks by renting 3 of my books instead of buying them! :-/

Help Haitian Earthquake Victims
Having experienced two major earthquakes (Richter 7.6 and 7.2) and watched thousands die right before my eyes buried under tons of debris, I am very sensitive to the Haïtian earthquake. If you have not experienced an earthquake before, you are probably not aware of the psychological and physical damages it can cause or you are most probably underestimating it. This force of the nature is not...

Geography yay
We are so close to the poles that it is 7AM and it is pitch dark outside. No signs of sunrise. So apparently it will be another hour before I can have any rays through my window.

Zuppa's in Toronto
We went to this dingy looking place for breakfast. I wasn’t too crazy about it because it didn’t tickle my aesthetic fancy. Then we ordered our food and this guy came over… owner of the place. He had this crazy mustache. He told us he was from Greece, then we exchanged our love towards each other you know as a nation, ties and everything. Leo, the owner, was so friendly and nice...

So far, I <3 Canada. Streets were full of skinny jeans, cute smiles, and awesome people ;) Feels like home. I even saw men proudly carrying their man-purses. Dear Americans, loosen up and bring out the skinnies and murses!
